Suzanne Vega was one of the first female folk-pop singer/songwriters to rise to prominence in the 80’s. Her highly literate lyrics in songs such as “Luca” and her trademark whisper voice reciting “Tom’s Diner” contributed to an early commercial success and helped to open up the door for a wealth of female talent. We were invited to join Suzanne on tour in England for her second album Days of Open Hand, which include some of her most beautiful and haunting songs. Shawn Covin contributed backup vocals. The 1990 film is a musical portrait of our time together done for A & M records.
