Le titre du film est celui d’une chanson traditionnelle de la communauté autochtone des Kondh, vivant dans la forêt vierge des collines Niyamgiri à Odisha, en Inde. Ce film est lui-même une élégie, chantée par les femmes indiennes, en l’honneur de leur cette forêt nourricière, maternelle, et en cours de disparition. Leurs conversations et leurs chansons nous offrent une fenêtre sur leur vie quotidienne et spirituelle, mais aussi sur leur aspirations et les menaces qui pèsent sur leur environnement immédiat.

The title of the film is a forest song of the Kondh aboriginal community living in the forest of the famed Niyamgiri in Odisha, India. This film is an elegy, a celebration sung by these Indian women, in honor of their nurturing forest, which is in the process of disappearing. It is through their conversations and songs that we are offered a window into their lives, their aspirations and the threats they and their environment are facing.
